Death row inmate found dead in cell
LIVINGSTON, Texas Texas prison officials say a 30-year-old death row inmate has been found hanging in his cell.
Christopher Wade Britton of Canadian was found dead Friday.
Guards found Britton about 17 minutes after a security check. They attempted C-P-R, but could not revive Britton.
The state Office of Inspector General is looking into the death.
Britton was convicted of fatally shooting a Hemphill County sheriff's deputy who was trying to serve an arrest warrant in June of 2001.
The victim was 54-year-old Deputy Jim Bruce Graham.
Britton arrived on Texas death row in August of 2002.

I would like to take the time to talk to you all about heroes.

The dictionary defines a hero as a man of distinguished bravery; one admire for his exploits.  As a child I had two heroes. One was my Grandfather. He was to me so smart and strong.  The other was John Wayne from the movies. As I grew older I realized that movie heroes are not real but my Grandfather reminisced the same.

In June of 2001 due to a mental illness I believed my life was in danger. I was confronted by a law enforcement officer who's job it was to arrest me. During the confrontation officer Jim Grahm was shot and killed.

I think it is important to recognize our heroes young and old.  Heroes who shape young minds and who give their lives for things they believe in. Heroes who protect our way of life.

 My name is Christopher Britton, I'm a 29 year old white man.  I was born August, August 11,1974. I have been on Texas' Death Row since August 8, 2002.  I am Looking for friendship and pen pals to correspond with anywhere in the world.  I like drawing, jokes, hard rock, classic rock. Western movies and books. I am very opened mind.  I would like to speak to you about something most people are ignorant of. Mental illness!  Mental illness is very real. As I am a testament, it will change your life for ever. I have a mental illness known as schizophrenia. Schizophrenia will dementia the way you think. It causes delusions of grandeur. Your mind tells you that you are seeing things that you believe are really there, but are not. Some people with schizophrenic may hear voices in there head that no one else does, and experience severe paranoia. I do not believe in murder. Schizophrenia is not an excuse for murder and I would not use it as one. I believe it is a reason why murders are committed. Putting people to death is not an answer to the question of murder. Medical treatment is the answer to mental illness. My name is Chad Britton and I suffer from schizophrenia. So, if there is anyone out there willing to write me, I would love to hear from you.
