         POETRY BY DAVID DAWSON:

                          TO A MOTHER AND FATHER

The day your son or daughter was born.
you held them with love and pride,

Today, your son or daughter may sit on death row,
There may come a day, when he or she will die.
You both will cry in pain and shame, but if you
would look in your sons or daughters eyes, you will see.
They carry the pain and shame,  so if you must
cry, then let it be in love and pride, for tomorrow
your son or daughter may not be on death row.

TO A SISTER, FROM DEATH ROW

You are my Angel here on earth.
you have loved me and you have come to visit
me, in the prison of Hell.
if I shall die and go to
hell, you become a real angel in heaven,
will you still be my angel, love and come to
Visit me in Hell.

                                                 DEATH ROW

Here I sit on death row,
No where to go.

When it comes my time
to go, Where will I go ?

if I go to Heaven, then
I'll know.  I have left this world,
if  I go to Hell, then I'll know
I'm still on death row.  Nowhere
to go.

                                                  DEATH ROW 2

Being on death row, makes me think
about what the Bible says about the
lost soul in Hell.

                "They beg for just one
drop of water on their tongues, to stop
the pain of their suffering."

                            on death row
The souls beg for just one drop of
friendship on their hearts, to stop
the pain of their suffering.

TO THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN THE DEATH PENALTY

if I don't see you again on this
side of life, I'll see you on the other
side, either Heaven or Hell, you will
surely follow, for your belief in death
is worse than any sin I have done.

So I'll take your punishment from
your judge by standing tall and strong.

When you see these eyes of mine and
others, you will become weak  and start
to weep and crawl on your knees, the tears
you shed will be the same tears as those
tears mine and the others love ones shed
for us.

"But that day will be your judgement
day and that will be justice served, for it
comes from our judge of all judges. God.
