Hi, my name is David Gore, and I have
been on Florida's Death Row here
in the U.S. for 18 years. I am 49 years old, 6'0", 230 lbs.
There is no way to describe the loneliness
one feels in here, unless a
person has experienced it. You are cut off from all the outside world
and letters are a Death Row inmate main way to have contact with the
I do not have family in which to communicate
with, and to share all my
thoughts and feelings with. So one can imagine how lonely it can be.
I would really like to correspond with
caring, understanding people,
regardless of age or gender. I would like to develop a friendship with
people to laugh with, and to even cry with. I have a great sense of
humour, considering where I'm at.
If someone would just want to write
and ask questions or curiosity about
prison life, or what it's like to be on Death Row, I would be more than
happy to respond to your letters.
Life on Death Row can be very emotional
at times. You have so much
negativity around you. And just to receive a letter from someone is so
I believe there will come a time when
I will have my death sentence
commuted to life.
However, I don't expect to get out of prison because of all the time I have.
In 1989 my death sentence was thrown
out by Florida's Supreme Court. In
1992 I was once again re-sentenced to death.
There have been so many mistakes in
my case and I'm just beginning my
second round of appeals.
I grew up on a small farm in South Florida.
I lived most of my life in
the country and having plenty of open space around me. I enjoy all
outdoors' recreation, camping, fishing, hiking, scuba diving.
I enjoy a variety of music, especially the classics from the 60s, 70s
I am a very straight forward person.
I'm caring and sensitive to people.
I really like to hear from people to make these lonely days a little
more easier to bare.
Thank you for taking the time to read
this and I hope to hear from you.
I promise to answer all who write.
