William Robert Jones, or Billy, a 38 years old white American, is among the thousands of the pending death row inmates awaiting execution in America.

ECPM has decided to support Billy, who is married to Gertie, an Austrian citizen. Recently, he was notified of his death warrant, with an execution date set for November 20, 2002.

He never received a fair trial, and he would not have been sentenced to death if he had received appropriate counsel from an experienced lawyer who would have introduced extenuating circumstances during his trail.
Moreover, for us, Billy is as much European as he is American.

Since the beginning of the year 2002, the state of Missouri has put to death 5 people. Missouris Governor Holden is a Democrat. For Billy and Gertie, we ask Governor Holden to cancel Billy's execution and to suspend all executions in the state of Missouri.
